If i tell you that i did not take the above picture but yet i’m on it.. would you guess where am I? Yep i’m the dude being loaded in the chopper after i crashed with my mountain bike last week end. Now i know why i pay taxes, emergency services are very efficient! My foot did almost 180 degrees on my leg so i could not be transported on roads and had to be moved with the chopper. No medical copter was available so its one of the Marines that came to pick me up. Once at the hospital i had surgery to my ankle. Now i have to lay down for 2 months before i can learn to walk again, and its gonna be long! Supporters can send me the list of their favorites iPad/iPhone games because i’ll have time to try them all :) Meantime, i’ll try to post a couple news here, finally i have time to write.
I stopped by an old factory not far from home this afternoon, its kind of a museum well known from local painters and street art enthusiasts. The place is huge, and has been abandoned for years. Rumors says it will be destroyed in the upcoming months to build… yet another shopping mall. Some more pics on flickr.
Most of my facebook tweeps already knows that: i bought a house last december! After 4 month of work its now sufficiently renovated so i can live in. Since a couple weeks i’m enjoying having my life back (i’ve been at my parents for almost a year, comfortable but yet not as confy as having your own space/furniture/schedule/etc..). I’m still setting up, opening boxes that i brought back from AMS. (re) discovering my own things and that feels good! its like i’m reclaiming my life :) On the plans for the next weeks: finishing lots of details in the house, throwing BBQs and get togethers with the mates and simply enjoying this nice weather. Pics of the work are on my Flickr account (linked on the image above). And of course if you’re around and knows how to contact me you’re very welcome to stop by ;) ttys!
While waiting to have a little time to publish my latest updates, here are 3 skateboarding videos that you must see. The 3 of them have been directed and filmed by the same talented man: Brett Novak. Enjoy!
I like aircrafts! And we saw a lot of them in town (more exactly above town) last week end. The 2 big times of the show were the exhibition of two Rafale jet fighters (no missiles shots tho, i’m kind of disappointed here) and the stunts performed by the Patrouille de France, french army’s finest pilots and their Alphajets (i’m adding one of those on my wish list). Check out the Flickr set to see more pictures from the show. And i still have about 200 to sort! Cheese :)
Long time no see! Yeah i know, since i’m back in France i’m not blogging communicating that much anymore. On the other hand, i’ve never been very regular in publishing stuff. i kinda feel bad about it but that’s my page heh! In an effort to share a bit again, check out the sunday pic above. With the good days coming back, maybe i’ll start shooting again. And hopefully post the results here… soon!
Yep, it’s sunday and i’m lazy so i post my own pictures. I shot this one at CDG while i was walking to get on board. I need to poke with photoshop and find out how to remove the reflection i got from shooting through a window, any help/link welcome!
Oh, If you’re bored, check also this. Happy sunday all :)

I almost forgot to post music here this month :) Let’s make it up! Wanna hear what i would define as the sound of my days in Amsterdam? Sincerely i never really listened much house music before i moved but since everybody here seems to be Dj, i came to discover new and, i’ll admit it, interesting sounds! I came to know the EarlyMorning Podcast along that. A fine selection of deep and relaxing grooves made by Tijn is Fijn and published as podcasts. Open this link with iTunes and it’ll download the other episodes to your ipod. Good for bike rides and for tram waiting ;)
This all started a little bit more than a week ago, when i came back from a vacation in my native Poitou (district of France). Despite my worse fears, i had a very good time over there. Back in dutchyland, i was relaxed and motivated to change a couple things in my everyday. i was so motivated that i decided to quit smoking! Just to put you in my chair for a second: i smoke since more than 10 years, 15 to 20 ciggies a day and that’s not including the pimped ones. My mum used to be big on the cigarette as well. Smart her, she quited 5 years ago. So if she was able to quit, why not me?
While i was in France recently my man Max had me trying his new toy. Definitely not for kids, this mini cross bike is awesomely fast with its 125cc 4 strokes engine! Perfect tool for unlimited fun in the back country :p Turn up the volume and remind me to add this gadget on my wishlist ;)
La Coka Nostra! ok, first of all let me tell you: i’ve seen them live Wednesday evening at the Melkweg in Amsterdam and it was PURE DOPE! (videos to come soon, if i ever manage to fix the sound.) So after helping me banging my head against the front stage all the evening, La Coka Nostra just released a mixtape “The Audacity of Coke” mixed by Statik Selektah and Dj Eclipse. Guess what, it’s available to y’all for download! This is actually teasing the new album “A brand You Can Trust” coming out July 14th (new tracks already streaming on myspace). Don’t miss it, it’s ill!
Shot in HD and 3D using the amazing Red Camera, ‘They Came From’ is the latest production from Factor Films and it’s for sure gonna be one of the biggest snowboard video out this year. No release date announced yet but if you’ve been good little riders this year you might get it for Christmas.
If you don’t know what Sensation White is: it’s a big (very big) dance party organized in the Amsterdam Arena (the stadium). When i say big it’s something like 60000 people (at 69 euros per tickets, do the maths yourself…). Only one dress code: all white! (hence the name, heh).
I wasn’t there, but my lucky flatmate (above) was there and apparently had a great time! Check the official pics of the evening, the stage was just amazing. And if audio don’t bothers you then check also youtube!
Costa del soul is an electronic music festival taking place tomorrow on Blijburg beach in Amsterdam (yes we do have a beach, small but still…). If you’re not about 25 euros i’ll strongly suggest to get there and party -> infos
I’m the happy owner a new photo camera Canon EOS D500. Woot ^^ I still have to master the thing but i like the first shots. So if you dont see me online these days i’m most likely to be walking Amsterdam’s streets camera in hand… smile if you see me ;) more updates to come on flickr.
One year ago smoking was banned in Amsterdam. I’m not sure that it changed a lot of things, we’re still going out and smoking almost anything anywhere. And anyway, real hippies always smoked it pure…
Amsterdam is one of the best city to find cool and original kicks. Amoungs the many trendy shops in this city here is one that stands out: Patta. The homebase for all sneakers lovers. And if you love sneakers i’ll assume you prolly also love music, here a freestyle recorded by non-phixion (yeah!) about the Patta shop! (remember, ill bill coming to town soon). happy monday fellas!

When a bunch of riders in slovenia kills the time by going in the (huuuuge) accumulation pool of a hydroelectric power station, the result is a surprising and very nice flickr photo set. This place is out of proportions, i wish i could have fun in there too! Anyone tried with a skateboard?
“If you live in Beirut, you probably know Jade as the DJ from The Basement, or one of the most respected DJs in town, or the dude from Blend, the first signed Rock Band in the region (EMI), or that guy at the music store downtown who always recommended great music. Jade plays vinyl in a country where no 12’’ is being sold…”.

This extract of his bio (savagely copy-pasted) introduces the man pretty well. I never had a chance to go to beirut but i was lucky enough to meet Jade when he came in amsterdam at the beginning of the year! Attached in this post is the set he played that night at club nl, that was a high time! for more info, dates and sets see his myspace.
music, pictures, artwork, events, discoveries, real and imaginary dialogs that punctuates my everyday. This is my continuous exploration of Amsterdam's peoples and way of life.
